Ben 10 was launched as a TV series in 2008 (North America) and 2009 (United Kingdom). It was created by Man of Action Studio and produced by Cartoon Network Studios. The televised cartoon series centers on the life of 10-year old Ben Tennyson and his adventures in life.
Ben and the Omnitrix
The Omnitrix is the focus of the series. It is a mysterious watch-like device that grants the wearer the power to transform into 10 alien characters. Ben discovers the Omnitrix in a pod in the woods and thereafter wears it on his arm. He selects the alien silhouette by turning the face of the Omnitrix and transforms into a particular alien character by pushing the face down.

He uses it to prevent disasters, fight off villains and to save people from terror. On discovery of the Omnitrix, he is transformed overnight into a hero in his small town of Bellwood. But he is not far from mischief.
The entire Ben 10 Series charts the life of Ben from a 4-year old boy to 16 year old teenager. The original series was followed by numerous sequels namely Alien Force, Ultimate Alien and Omniverse. What made the Ben 10 character so popular was that little boys could easily identify with him. At around the same age, they are similar in characteristics and also share similar interests.
Chief Characters -
Ben is helped in his goodly missions by Grandpa Max and Gwendolyn Tennyson. Gwendolyn is Ben's hot-tempered, paternal cousin sister. She is an Anodite. There's Kevin Levin. Introduced as an opponent to the protagonist, he soon becomes a fast friend of Ben and joins his team along with Gwen. He is an Osmosian.
Grandpa Max is Maxwell Tennyson. He is a semi-retired member of the Plumbers organization. The loving grandfather he takes his grandchildren to summer trips. It is on one of these trips Ben discovers the Omnitrix. Grandpa Max greatly influences his grandson's life in his battle against the evil forces. Vilgax is the alien war lord and chief enemy of Ben 10. He intends to steal the Omnitrix for his own evil motives.
Also populating the world of Ben Tennyson are several mysterious and magical elements.
